‘Congratulations, I am so proud,’ B.C. ready to move into Phase 3 of Restart Plan

VICTORIA—Premier John Horgan offered ‘congratulations’ to British Columbians as the province gets ready to move into Phase 3 of B.C.’s Restart Plan.

Moving into the third phase means that things such as hotels, resorts, parks and the film industry will have the support of the public health and WorksafeBC to re-open “slowly.” With this announcement, the Premier also extended B.C.’s state of emergency to July 7.

Phase three will allow for more in province travelling, which both the Premier, and Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry stress must be done “safely.”

Horgan saying that before travelling anywhere in the province, British Columbians should have a travel plan, ensuring that the community you are travelling to is prepared to receive you—as some communities are still reluctant to allow visitors.

Practices such as washing your hands, physical distancing, and not going out when you are sick are measures both the Premier and Dr. Henry stress are of continued importance to ensure the health and safety of British Columbians.
