The Prince George Spruce Kings continue to be active on the trade front.

Thursday morning the club announced they have acquired 2001 born defenceman Zach Gabruch from the Wellington Dukes of the Ontario Junior Hockey League in exchange for 2001 born forward Mason Reeves.

Gabruch spent the 19/20 season with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks where he produced 5 points in his first season of Junior A.

He was traded to Wellington from Salmon Arm just 6 days ago.

“He’s a big and mobile d-man with a year of experience in our league,” stated Spruce Kings General Manager Mike Hawes in a press release sent out by the team.

“He will provide a lot of stability for us on the back end.”

Prior to Salmon Arm, the 6’5 defenceman from Saskatoon spent two years with the Saskatoon Blazers of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League where he produced 30 points in two seasons.

The Kings send forward Mason Reeves the other way in the deal, after acquiring the forward from the Brooks Bandits prior to the CJHL trade deadline this past year.
