RCMP and B.C. Coroner investigate after body found near campground

TERRACE—RCMP are investigating after a body was found on Ferry Island last week.

On June 24 at around 11:30 p.m. Terrace RCMP responded to a report of a missing person at the Ferry Island Campground. Terrace RCMP say that a call came in saying that a man had not been seen for over an hour near the back trail of the campground.

Police attended the scene and found a man dead in the water, near a path. RCMP and the B.C. Coroners Service are investigating. The man was not from B.C. and his family has been contacted.
