PRINCE GEORGE – Out of frustration, a local inventor began working an idea that may change the way we harness energy from the wind.
Retired 74-year old David Buchanan drew on all his life experiences and created a vertical wind turbine that he hopes it will be copied and used to generate power.
Self-taught wind turbine builder, David Buchanan has been working on a vertical wind turbine for the last eight years. Buchanan’s recent invention makes no noise does not vibrate while spinning and will not kill birds or bugs.
Buchanan holds no patent on his five-panel vertical wind turbine and wants others to take his idea and begin creating their own energy.
The local inventor says his current creation can produce enough energy to operate a cabin. Buchanan would like to see his turbine idea spread around the world.
