VICTORIA–13 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the province today, none in Northern Health.

“There have been no new health-care facility outbreaks and the outbreak at Langley Lodge has been declared over. In total, three long-term care or assisted-living facilities and one acute-care facility have active outbreaks.”–Joint Statement by Provincial Health Officer, Dr.Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix

No new active community outbreaks were reported in the province either. Once again both Dr. Henry and Health Minister Dix are reminding the public to travel safely and kindly this summer.

“Following our rules for safe social interactions by keeping a safe physical distance from others, wearing a mask when maintaining distance is a challenge, keeping on top of hand hygiene and always staying home if you are sick will help protect all of us,” reads the statement.

“Whether you live in B.C., are a visitor from another province or are in Canada for essential travel, we all have to do our part to protect our communities, our Elders and our loved ones.”–Joint Statement by Provincial Health Officer, Dr.Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix

Anyone who develops symptoms of COVID-19 in B.C. is asked to immediately self-isolate for 14 days and call 8-1-1 to arrange to get tested.
