RCMP investigate local homicide

PRINCE GEORGE—A woman is dead after being stabbed yesterday outside of the Prince George Courthouse.

At around 10 p.m. last night (July 2, 2020) Prince George RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing on the 300 block of George St.

When RCMP arrived they discovered a 26-year-old female suffering from what police believe was at least one stab wound. First aid was administered by officers until paramedics arrived on the scene, where she was then transported to hospital.

The area where the incident took place was secured and the RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit was called in to investigate.

According to local police earlier this morning the 26-year-old victim succumbed to her injuries in hospital. Police say that the investigation is in its early stages and that significant resources have been deployed to help assist. RCMP are asking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
