Debris flood incident update for Mountain View Road area near McBride

MCBRIDE- The debris flood incident on Mountain View Road at Willox Creek near McBride BC continues to be monitored and assessed by the Regional District in conjunction with the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, Emergency Management BC and other Ministries. The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure advises that there is no estimated time for re-opening the roadway. Any residents in the Mountain View Road area west of the hazard site are advised to continue to shelter in place until a further update is provided.All residents, including those residing within the area on evacuation order and those residing west of the hazard site, must comply with the evacuation order and should not trespass in the area.

MCBRIDE-The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George’s evacuation order issued on July 4, 2020 remains in effect for the Mountain View Road area near McBride BC after an initial debris flow occurred on Willox Creek shortly before 2am that morning. The evacuation order area is shown on the attached map. All residents must comply with the evacuation order and are to leave this unstable area immediately. The Regional District continues to work with the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, Emergency Management BC and other Ministries to ensure the safety of all area residents, and will be providing further updates as the situation evolves

MCBRIDE — Approximately nine residences in the Mountain View Road area, near McBride, are under an evacuation order. The order has been issued as a result of debris flow along Willox Creek, which happened early this morning.

Anyone in the evacuation order area is asked to leave immediately and must register with Regional District of Fraser-Fort George.
