Prince George nightclub reopens

PRINCE GEORGE — As some industries slowly reopen, nightclubs aren’t scheduled to be back to normal until the fourth and final phase of the province’s restart plan, which won’t occur until a vaccine for COVID-19 is found.

Despite that, several establishments across the province have reopened, with safety provisions taken.

This weekend marks the reopening of a popular spot in Prince George, as Lambda Cabaret down on 3rd and Dominion opened for the first time since March 16 last night.

Plastic face shields are required and numbers are being limited to 45 guests per floor.

Despite the requirement, Lambda had to switch course last night, admitting on their Facebook page that they ran out of plastic face shields and had to encourage patrons to social distance instead.

And after three clubs in Vancouver over the last three weeks reported COVID-19 cases, the province’s top doctor is urging nightclub goers to be cautious.

“Making sure that our group is less than six, so that we’re not putting staff at risk. We’re not crowding places. We’re not going and mixing in those places with people that we may not know, and may not be able to contact afterwards,” said Dr. Bonnie Henry.
