Local businessman on annual donation spree
PRINCE GEORGE — Every year, local businessman Cameron Thun goes around the community donating to a number of organizations to give back to a community he says has done so much for him.
Listing a few of the places he has stopped by recently, Thun also has a call to the rest of Prince George hoping people can pitch in on the fundraising efforts, whether it be monetary or material. “I went to the PG Rescue Society, they can use hay and fences; the hospice house needs to buy tickets; went to the CDC and they could use cash donations; the SPCA needs cat toys and other cat stuff; the Salvation Army needs cash for food; and the Connaught Youth Centre can always use cash to help them stay open. So that’s it in a nutshell.”
One of the top beneficiaries is the local Salvation Army. The Thun family name proudly represented with other top donors from when the food bank was just opening on 18th and Nicholson.
