Fundraising for commemorative benches

PRINCE GEORGE – If all goes as planned, two new benches will be placed at the CN Centre, honouring a familiar figure to Prince George..

David Mah could be seen snapping photos at events in this community for 25 years. His love of photography started well before he began a career, first, with PG This week, and then over to the Prince George Citizen.

Whether it was a wildlife photo or a police incident, the same attention was given to each.

David Mah passed away in 2016 and a group of friends hopes to have two benches placed at the entrance of CN Centre to commemorate his work.

“We formed “Friends of David Mah” originally for the Relay for Life in 2017, the year Dave passed away,” explains Jason Peters with the Friends of David Mah. “Just about a month ago, Glen “Moose” Scott, who is part of Friends of David Mah, called Glen Mikkelson at the CN Centre and asked about the possibility of putting memorial benches in place.”

And that is what launched a campaign to have two commemorative benches placed at either side of the main entrance to the CN Centre.

But, they need to raise about $5,000 to do so. You can donate by contacting Jason Peters at 250-301-9234
