Heat warning issued for Cariboo
QUESNEL–Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the north and south Cariboo.
A ridge of high pressure remains over the central interior of B.C. which is causing the hot conditions. Temperatures are forecast to reach 29 degrees or higher with overnight lows near 14 expected to continue through Thursday.
According to Environment Canada, clouds will push in Tuesday and Wednesday helping keep day time temperatures a bit cooler while keeping nighttime temperatures warmer than usual. It isn’t until Friday that temperatures are forecast to moderate as the ridge of high-pressure weakens.
Environment Canada asks residents of the Cariboo to watch out for the signs of heat illness such as swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.
