Proposal for 30 new supportive homes in Dawson Creek for homeless or at risk of homelessness
DAWSON CREEK–The Province is working on a proposal to build 30 new supportive homes to aid those who are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness.
The Province, City of Dawson Creek and the South Peace Community Resources Society (SPCRS) are all partnering on the proposal. So far, a rezoning application has been submitted to the city, which is providing the land for the project at 1024, 1028, 1032 and 1036 – 104 Ave.
“The City of Dawson Creek is very pleased to partner with the Province, through BC Housing, and the South Peace Community Resources Society to deliver much-needed housing for those who may be experiencing homelessness or other vulnerable populations in our city.”–Dale Bumstead, mayor, City of Dawson Creek
If the rezoning application is approved construction of the modular housing is expected to start in September of this year, with completion of the project by early 2021.
