RCMP ask for assistance in locating man last seen in the fall of 2019

FORT ST. JOHN–Chetwynd RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating a man who has not been seen since last year.

RCMP received a report of a missing person on July 12, 2020. 35-year-old William John Bird has not been seen since November 2019. Investigative avenues were followed leading Chetwynd RCMP to follow up with contacts related to Bird in the Chetwynd area. To date all efforts to locate him have been unsuccessful.

William John Bird is described as:

• Indigenous male
• 6’0″
• 241 lbs
• Brown eyes
• Black hair

Bird is originally from Wanipigow, Manitoba. Police say Bird is known to live a high-risk lifestyle leading his family, friends and RCMP to be concerned for his well-being.
