2 new cases of COVID-19 in Northern Health, 50 in B.C.

One new death was reported in the Vancouver Coastal Health region bringing the total of COVID-19 related deaths to 195 in the province.

Today’s 50 additional cases brings the total of provincial test-positive cases to 3,641, of those only 278 are active cases. There are five people in hospital and two are in ICU.

One new health-care facility outbreak has been reported in the Fraser Health region. This new outbreak brings the total of health-care outbreaks to three, with two in long-term care facilities and one in acute care. No new community outbreaks were reported, and the outbreaks in Haida Gwaii and at Fraser Valley Packers Inc. continue to be monitored and supported by public health teams.

“Let’s socialize safely by keeping our groups small, using the layers of protection and giving everyone enough space to stay safe, whether at a backyard barbecue, on a friend’s boat or enjoying a nearby park,” continued the statement.

There are now 3,168 people who have recovered from COVID-19 in B.C.
