PRINCE GEORGE–Getting ready to take off?

The Prince George Airport Authority (PGAA) has created an informative video for Prince George residents or anyone taking off from the local airport in an attempt to prepare flyers for what to expect at YXS.

The video highlights the safety measures put in place by PGAA to curb the spread of COVID-19. It also walks future flyers through what they can expect once inside the premise, such as wearing a mask, sanitizing before checking in and a touchless temperature check.

More flight options will be available to the public later this year, with new options as early as this coming weekend. Flair Airlines takes off on Sunday, August 23, with flights to Edmonton and Vancouver. Come September, WestJet will be operating three flights a day, Monday-Friday, two on Saturdays and one on Sunday to Vancouver, and Air Canada will be flying to Vancouver two times a day, seven days a week.

Central Mountain Air (CMA) is operating flights three days a week to Kamloops, Kelowna, Terrace/Kitimat and Fort St. John. On select days CMA is offering one-stop service to Calgary and Vancouver. Come September 14, they will be adding direct flights to Edmonton and Fort Nelson.
