PRINCE GEORGE — It was a staple of the downtown but in 2016, The Generator closed its doors for good, or so we thought. New owners of the establishment are looking to reopen the spot and breathe new life into the downtown.

Zorawar Saini got the green light for a liquor license at the venue at a recent council meeting. As part of his application, he needed to make sure there would be no negative impact on the community or neighbouring businesses. In fact, local businessman and next door neighbour, John Kason, wrote a letter of support saying he hopes it can help the downtown become a vibrant entertainment district.

Renovations are needed for the Generator to make a comeback. And they are well underway. A spot for a DJ and new music system, figuring out seating and table arrangements, and making sure both floors are suitable for not only young people hoping to party but to give everyone of all ages another reason to come to the downtown.

Saini needs a few more thumbs up from the Province for example, before putting any concrete plans in place. However, he hopes to have the Generator up and running before the end of the year.
