Police arrest 4 and seize loaded handgun and ammo at Hart motel

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George RCMP arrested four people and seized a loaded handgun and ammunition over the weekend.

Cpl. Craig Douglass says just before 8 a.m. on Saturday (Aug.22), police received a weapons related report at a motel on the 3400 block of Highway 97.

“Frontline officers and a Police Dog Service team attended the motel. Four occupants of the room eventually cooperated with police and were taken into custody without incident. While searching the room for other occupants officers located a loaded handgun and ammunition.”

He says one of the occupants, a 33-year-old man, was wanted on previous firearm related charges dating back to August 2019.

Douglass says the other three people, a 28-year-old woman, a 27-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man, were all released without charge pending further investigation. All four are from Prince George.

Police say the investigation is continuing.
