DAWSON CREEK–RCMP in Dawson Creek are looking for the public’s help in identifying a man who impersonated a police officer.

Dawson Creek RCMP say that the male was first seen in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant on Alaska Ave. in Dawson Creek at around 12:30 a.m. He was seen getting into his vehicle and followed the victim until she parked at an apartment building on Third Ave.

The male was then viewed to exit his vehicle and approach the victim who was still in her vehicle at the time. The man identified himself as Constable Parker and informed her that he was an RCMP officer. The man then directed the female to provide her driver’s license and registration. The victim, recognizing that the man was not in uniform nor carrying anything which identified him as one, declined and said she was calling the police. The male then fled the area.
