Chamber Recovery Plan
PRINCE GEORGE – The BC Chamber of Commerce has released its three-pronged approach to recovery for small businesses. The first prong calls for a restructuring of the tax regime.
“The City of Prince George has done a good job. Small businesses have a pretty favourable tax rate here. But there’s always work that can be done to find extra remedial opportunities,” says Todd Corrigall, CEO of the Prince George Chamber of Commerce. “So downtown, they’ve pulled out the new-build incentive for downtown. But there’s never been a look at what we’re doing for existing infrastructure and how do we upgrade that infrastructure.”
The second prong looks to identify industries that need attention from the government, one of which is natural resources. Not surprising, nor unexpected for Corrigall.
