Administrator Christina Iliopulos says recently whenever she has tried to use the system it continuously crashes. She says that makes her job that consists of constantly trying to re-book road tests that much more difficult.

“We were contacted by ICBC locally earlier in August, and they were not booking them through the online system, instead they were booking them with a pen and paper,” says Iliopulos.

She says not entering appointments into the system makes things difficult when confirming appointments.

When new time slots were eventually released on Friday that was also problematic because Iliopulos says students were getting word of openings before they were.

“We’re having to redo all the work that we’ve done for bookings.” says Iliopulos

ICBC says as for the online system work is underway to identify potential improvements for their customers and driving schools.

CKPG News recently spoke with a young driver in Prince George who had trouble getting a road test locally.

As of Monday afternoon, she says she had tried countless times to rebook but hasn’t had any success.

Schulz says he knows his students and all other drivers needing a road test are eager but he advises anyone trying to get their passing certificate to be extra patient.

“If you need a license for work, or if you need a license just to get going, and you’re looking at the timeframe involved it’s incredibly frustrating.”

Normally PG Driving For Life books just over 350 road tests in a calendar year, in the month of October alone, Schulz says they have over 50 already scheduled.
