47-year run comes to an end for Labour Day Classic… for now
PRINCE GEORGE – It was a good run, 47 years to be exact.
Since 1974, the Labour Day Classic has taken place each and every year in Prince George. However, due to COVID-19, this year’s event was cancelled back in April when the Prince George Roadrunners cancelled their entire road race series for the year.
The 47th Labour Day Classic was originally scheduled to be taking place on Sunday, September 8, 2020.
Back in 2018, the runners took on the race in order to keep it from folding with the 2019 edition, and the 46th instalment of the event, being the first official event ran under the Roadrunners’ banner.
