RCMP make arrest in property crime spree Tuesday night

PRINCE GEORGE – Prince George RCMP have arrested a suspect in relation to a string of property crimes in the area of Douglas and Ewert streets.

Police say they found the 28-year-old man just after 7:30 PM on Tuesday night after receiving a report of a man attempting to break into a vehicle.

Further investigation led police to believe that the suspect was also responsible for slashing a number of vehicle tires on the street and entering at least one residence unlawfully.

Police believe the man from New Hazelton, BC was intoxicated by drugs upon the time of his arrest. They allege he was wielding a knife and resisted officers.

RCMP say the man was held in custody until sober and then released with documents for a future court date.
