Seven new cases of COVID-19 in Northern Health, 121 in B.C.

VICTORIA–Seven new cases of COVID-19 in the Northern Health Region were reported this afternoon (Sept.4).

Provincially, 121 new cases were added to B.C.’s total, including five epi-linked ones for a total of 6,162.

Cases by Health Region:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 2,077
  • Fraser Health: 3,201
  • Island Health: 180
  • Interior Health: 451
  • Northern Health: 174
  • People who reside outside of Canada: 79

In total 1,233 cases are active with 2,792 people under active public health monitoring as a result of being exposed to known cases of the virus. One new death was reported for a total of 211 deaths provincially.

31 people are in hospital and 12 of those are in ICU. One new health care facility outbreak was reported in the Fraser Health region for a total of 12 outbreaks in health care. There are no new community outbreaks, but once again British Columbians are urged to visit the BC Centre for Disease Control’s website for updated community exposures.

“We must maintain a very careful balance between fun and caution this long weekend and onwards to the fall,” continues the statement.
