Another week and another commitment for a member of the Prince George Spruce Kings.

This time it’s PG product, Corey Cunningham, who announced his commitment to play NCAA Division 1 hockey at Merrimack College.

In a press release sent out by the team, Spruce Kings General Manager Mike Hawes stated “I am very happy for Corey and his family for many reasons. He is a local Prince George kid, he comes from a great family, and he is going into his fourth year as a Spruce King.”

In his 3rd year as King in 19/20, Cunningham saw his best output offensively. Putting up 26 goals and 18 assists.

“He has improved as a player and as a person each of his past three seasons as a Spruce King. It is very rewarding to see our players reach their goals and play college hockey and getting an opportunity to further their education,” shared Kings Head Coach Alex Evin in the same release.

Cunningham will see a familiar face though when he does make his trek to North Andover, Massachusetts.

Cunningham’s old teammate Ben Brar is also a member of the Merrimack Warriors.
