PRINCE GEORGE—Local RCMP responded to a hit and run incident that left one man in hospital with serious injuries last night.

Prince George RCMP say they received the report of a hit and run involving a pedestrian close to 10:30 p.m. on September 7. Emergency services and the RCMP responded to the incident along Hwy.97 near the intersection of Boundary Rd.

When police arrived they located a male suffering from serious injuries and began to help paramedics with treatment. The man was then taken to hospital.

RCMP say that it is believed the victim was walking southbound on the southbound side of the road and was struck from behind by a southbound vehicle or trailer. The vehicle did not stop. Several pieces of the vehicle were located indicating that it was damaged on impact and should be noticable.

Local police are urging the driver to attend the Prince George Detachment and speak to an officer. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-8477.

Prince George RCMP say they would like to thank those who stopped to assist shortly after the accident, and are reminding the public to take extra care when walking along roadways.
