The Timberwolves are back in their den at the Northern Sport Centre as both the men’s and women’s basketball teams have begun their 2020-2021 season.

“It’s exciting,” stated Head Coach of the women’s basketball team Sergey Shchepotkin.

“We didn’t have anything in 6 months and it was really sad because we didn’t do any of the individual work, but it’s exciting to be back.”

“It’s so exciting. We are so excited and thankful to have this facility,” shared 5th-year Timberwolf Madison Landry.

However, there is some uncertainty looming over the campaign for both the Timberwolves basketball teams as there has yet to be an official announcement of whether or not they will be able to play games come January.

Regardless, there is plenty of time for the teams to both grow and bond.

“We definitely have a super strict training schedule. We are training like there is going to be a season even though we don’t know,” added Landry.

“Building that team, building that energy, is going to be super awesome.”

With all the practice time the Timberwolves have, staying focused will be important for both groups.

However, Head Coach Sergey Shchepotkin knows the team will work hard either way.

“I think they are doing what they like to do. They are playing basketball and they should be alright.”
