Grays claim Spruce City Fastball Championship in first year

It’s not often an expansion franchise in any league has immediate success.

Professionally just 2 years ago the Vegas Golden Knights made the Stanley Cup Finals.

However, for the FFR Glass Grays, they took it a step further as Friday night they claimed the title of Spruce City Fastball League Champions with a 15-10 win over Falcon Contracting

“It’s so good. We had lots of fun,” stated James Haviland following the win Friday night.

Haviland has two home runs in the victory.

“It’s pretty crazy to be honest,” stated third baseman Cole Waldie.

Waldie also hit a three run home run in the top of the 4th which gave the Grays the lead, and they never looked back.

The home run was also Waldie’s first-ever career home run.

Adjusting to fastball was no easy feat for the Grays, but now that the team has won the title in 2020, will they be back for next season?

“I think if Covid is still around, we would like to be in,” added Waldie.

“Yeah hopefully we can work something out where they come play over there (baseball) and we can come over here. I still want to play here, it’s a lot of fun,” explained Haviland.

“It’s lots of fun over here. No complaints. It was a blast.”
