Public inquest scheduled into death of 48-year-old man in Dawson Creek

VICTORIA—The B.C. Coroners Service has scheduled a public inquest into the death of James Daniel McIntyre.

The inquest is scheduled to begin on September 28 at 9:30 a.m. at the Dawson Creek Courthouse.

McIntyre’s death was reported to the B.C. Coroners Service on July 16, 2015, following a police altercation in Dawson Creek.

“Michael Egilson, presiding coroner, and a jury will hear evidence from witnesses under oath to determine the facts surrounding this death. The jury will have the opportunity to make recommendations aimed at preventing deaths under similar circumstances.”—Release by Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General
