TERRACE—RCMP in Terrace responded to close to 359 calls between September 1st and September 10.

Of those, close to 109 occurred between Sept.4-6th.

On Thursday September 10 Terrace RCMP members conducted a traffic stop at around 7:15 p.m. The driver of a motorcycle had been observed passing a semi-trailer combo who at the time was also passing a grader. An oncoming vehicle was forced to break in order to avoid a head-on collision with the motorcyclist. The cyclist was also caught going 129 km/h in a 90 zone.

When the driver was pulled over, RCMP members believed the man to be intoxicated and conducted a breath-test which resulted in a 25 mg percentage reading—below the violation limit. A violation ticket for Drive Without Consideration, Drive Contrary to Restriction, and Fail to Display “L” Sign was issued.

On Sunday, September 5th members of the Terrace RCMP were on patrol when they witnessed a male deliver a hard kick to another male who had fallen to the ground and was lying on his back. The suspect fled on foot, however, was followed where he surrendered to police. He was arrested for assault and then transported to cells where the suspect was fingerprinted and released on an Undertaking.
