If you’ve spent any time around the rink over the past couple of years, you probably recognize Danika Kroeker.

A long time official here in the City of Prince George who has gotten to ref some high profile events.

On Tuesday, her 2019-2020 season was capped off in amazing fashion as she was named BC Hockey Official of the Year.

“I was pretty happed,” stated Kroeker to CKPG.

“Getting to follow in the names of some of BC’s most successful officials and all guys I looked up to over the years.”

At the age of 21, Kroeker currently officiates in the BCHL, USports, and BC Hockey Zone program both for the U18’s and U16’s.

However, the 19/20 season was filled with a number of great opportunities which were quite memorable.

“Getting to do U18’s with a bunch of my teammates was a huge highlight. Getting to travel to Manitoba was just a lot of fun and obviously the gold medal was a highlight. Canada Rivalry Series was my favourite one this year. It showed me where I can be in a couple of years,” added Kroeker.

After accomplishing so much at a young age, Kroeker is hopeful she can continue to learn and grow as an official to climb the ranks.
