‘Feeling cautiously optimistic’: YXS passenger numbers continue to increase
PRINCE GEORGE—”Feeling cautiously optimistic,” those are the words from the Prince George Airport Authority’s President and CEO, Gordon Duke, as passenger numbers for the month of August continue to show an upwards trend.
For the month of August the Prince George Airport (YXS) saw 11,006 travellers— a drop of 72 percent from August 2019 but an increase from last month. The month of July was down 75 per cent compared to last year’s passenger numbers.
“The ongoing increase in passenger numbers continues to leave us feeling cautiously optimistic as we navigate through these uncertain times.”—Gordon Duke, President and CEO, Prince George Airport Authority
The month of September will see added service to and from YXS, something the PGAA says is expected to help increase passenger numbers even further.
