SMITHERS — Nathan Cullen couldn’t stay away from politics for long.

The former long-time NDP MP has announced he’s running for the NDP nomination in the Stikine riding in northwest B.C. The riding has been held by Forests Minister Doug Donaldson since 2009 though he announced earlier this week that we won’t be running in the next provincial election.

“It was an incredible honour to serve as MP for Skeena from 2004 to 2019,” he said on Twitter today. “We are now living in unprecedented & challenging times. I want to offer my energy & experience to help. Today I’m excited to announce my bid to become the candidate for the BC NDP riding of Stikine #bcpoli
