Festival of Trees returning for 29th year

PRINCE GEORGE — The COVID-19 pandemic won’t stop the Festival of Trees from returning for its 29th year.

It’s the signature event put on annually by the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation though CEO Judy Neiser says it will have a different look this year.

“Festival of Trees is on. I think there’s a rumour mill going around with a lot of civic closures and of course Festival of Trees is not going to be the way it was and it breaks our heart to not be able to offer that to the community,” she says.

“It is what it is but we’ve got an incredible group of volunteers. Our board and our staff are all working really hard to reimagine Festival of Trees and whatever way it can take place. It’ll be alive and well. It’ll be in a different form but all that we can ask is that you stay tuned.”

Neiser made the comments following this year’s successful Spirit Day fundraiser which raked in over $90,000.
