PG resident recipient of Forest Products Association of Canada Rising Star Award

PRINCE GEORGE— A Prince George resident is the recipient of an award from the Forest Products Association of Canada’s (FPAC) Awards of Excellence program.

Faye Cuadra, who started work at Canfor Pulp in 2018, is the recipient of the FPAC Rising Star Award. Cuadra is a research engineer and develops and implements laboratory methods for biocrude testing, to advance the process development objectives of the Biofules project.

“As a member of the Biofuel Development team at Canfor Pulp, Faye clearly demonstrates through her passion for her work and continuous development of her abilities and confidence that she is a Rising Star. A strong desire for sustainability and environmental stewardship motivates Faye and she believes her work in developing a process to produce biofuel is important in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.”—Release by FPAC

Cuadra moved with her family to Canada from the Phillippines in 2011 and is a chemical engineering graduate from UBC.
