TERRACE— RCMP in Terrace say they responded to close to 413 calls in the span of ten days.
The majority of those calls occurred between Friday, Sept.11 and Sunday, Sept.13.
On Tuesday, Sept.15 at around noon police received a complaint from a By-law officer saying that a suspect had flung a baseball bat at another person. When police arrived at the scene they were unable to locate the suspect, however, later that day received a report of a suspect swinging at a metal door to a business with a baseball bat. The suspect was arrested, held for a court date and later transported to a Corrections Facility.
Earlier that same day RCMP say they received a report of a theft from a work vehicle which had been parked on the 4800 Block of Hwy.16. The tailgate of the car had been pulled open despite a locked canopy. Items missing included a Cable Locater ($10,000 in value), Pin-brazing Gun ($500 in value) and a nylon tool carrier containing various electrical tools. RCMP requested video surveillance of a business in the area; the suspect was identified as being known to police. The suspect was found and arrested and was held in custody for court.
