Five new cases of COVID-19 in Northern Health,148 in B.C.

VICTORIA– Five new cases of COVID-19 in the Northern Health region for a total of 278 since the start of the pandemic.

Provincially, 148 new cases were reported, including 12 epi-linked cases for a total of 8,543.

Cases by health region:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 3,094
  • Fraser Health: 4,361
  • Island Health: 203
  • Interior Health: 520
  • Northern Health: 278
  • People who reside outside of Canada: 87

There are 1,371 active cases in B.C., in all health authorities. Two new deaths were reported for a total of 229. Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry also revealed that the death in the Northern Health Region reported on Monday was an Elder from the Nak’azdli Whut’en First Nation. Dr. Henry offered her condolences to the family of the deceased and to all those who have lost a loved one to COVID-19.

3,417 people are under active public health monitoring. At the moment 61 people are in hospital and 20 of those are in ICU.

6,917 people have recovered from COVID-19 in B.C.
