Human remains found in park

PRINCE RUPERT—RCMP in Prince Rupert identified human remains earlier this month.

A release from September 11, by Prince Rupert RCMP says that on September 10 at around 12 p.m., with the assistance of the Terrace Police Dog Section, a shoe and a piece of clothing were found at Moresby Park, in Prince Rupert.

After further search of the area, human remains were found. Police say that the BC Coroners Service was notified and that an investigation into the cause of death is also being completed by the Coroners Service.

Police remained at the Moresby Park area for a few days collecting evidence, and add that the public is not at risk. The park has since re-opened to the public.
