PRINCE GEORGE—Local RCMP say their continued efforts to disrupt drug trafficking groups associated with the increased violence in recent weeks has resulted in recent arrests.

On Thursday, September 24, Prince George RCMP’s Street Crew Unit arrested two people believed to be trafficking controlled substances. A 30-year-old male was found in possession of fentanyl and cash, while a 28-year-old Prince George resident was found in possession of what at first was believed to be a pistol, and was later identified as a BB gun.

Those arrests led police to a residence in the 3000-block of 3rd Ave. A search warrant was obtained for the home, leading to the seizure of a rifle and various types of ammunition, along with drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Both suspects were released pending further investigation and charge assessment.

A third male, a 34-year-old Prince George resident, was located at a local hotel breaching the conditions of his probation. The suspect was held overnight and will appear in court later today (Sept. 25).
