It’s been a week and a half since the UNBC Timberwolves basketball clubs returned to the court at the Northern Sport Centre.

For the both teams it has been busy since the beginning as they have both been practicing daily.

For the men’s team, they are just happy to be back on the court together following a stretch of more than 6 months off.

“I think it is a huge thing for us. Just getting back on the court being able to train and practice again,” shared Head Coach Todd Jordan.

“Covid has been tough situation for everybody and these guys are no exception.”

There has yet to be an announcement on whether or not the Timberwolves basketball clubs will be able to have some sort of season this year.

USports has already cancelled the fall semester of athletics.

Usually the season for the basketball teams at UNBC begins in October and now the earliest they will begin is January.

However, there are some positives to the season starting later according to their Head Coach.

“The silver lining in all of this is it does buy some extra developmental time, especially for some of our younger players who are always behind and trying to catch up. So that is a positive.”

The Timberwolves will find out some time in October if they will be taking to the court for games this season.
