Witset community marks one week in COVID-19 lockdown
WITSET FIRST NATION–A release posted on Facebook by the Witset First Nation, north of Smithers, says this past weekend marked a week into their lockdown to try and slow the spread of COVID-19 in their community.
“We are currently at 14 positive cases in our community,” reads a release by Beverley Clifton Percival, Health Director at Witset Health Centre.
“This is not about individuals, it is about taking measures to eliminate the threat of COVID-19 and protect ourselves and our families…We are in this for the long haul and it requires us to reduce our contacts.”–Release by Beverley Clifton Percival, Health Director at Witset Health Centre
The release goes on to say that as B.C. heads into the winter months it’s important to keep our bubbles small.
