SALMON VALLEY — Raymond Rodgers (BC Libertarian) is the third candidate to announce their intention to run for the Prince George-Mackenzie riding in the upcoming provincial election. He follows incumbent Mike Morris (BC Liberal) and Joan Atkinson (BC NDP).

The BC Libertarian Party was founded in 1986 advocating for individual liberty, lower taxes, free markets, and social tolerance. Rodgers joins eleven other announced candidates at the time of posting including Sean Robson, who is running in the Prince George-Valemount riding.

A journeyman electrician by trade, Rodgers believes voters in the region will cohere with the pillars of his platform which specifically include ending the ICBC monopoly, eliminating carbon and gas taxes, and provide more schooling choices. In announcing his candidacy, Rodgers said of his chance as a smaller party against larger parties, “I’m trying my best to advocate for finding solutions that find unity rather than create division that I’m so often seeing.”

The BC provincial election is October 24.
