LEAP Conference underway

PRINCE GEORGE – While the inaugural LEAP Conference was initially planned as an in-person event, COVID came along and changed that.

But the show must go on and the conference is underway virtually this week, with guest speakers from all walks.

The purpose of the conference is to help women “take the leap” into entrepreneurialism.

“Perhaps you’re in a career now and you’ve had an idea and you’re letting it go around in the back of your mind, but you’re not taking that step forward,” explains organizer Mary Mytting with Community Futures Fort George. “We don’t want those ladies to miss out.”

The conference also gives women across the region and province the chance to network, albeit virtually.

“There’s a real network coming together in Prince George in women supporting each other.”

Themes for this year’s event include advocating for women and gender inclusivity in the workforce.
