PRINCE GEORGE— The Prince George-Mackenzie riding officially has a BC Green Party Candidate.

Catharine Kendall has been announced as the BC Green Party candidate for Prince George-Mackenzie.

Kendall ran for the Green’s in the 2019 Federal Election in the Prince George—Peace River—Northern Rockies riding, where she lost to Conservative Bob Zimmer. Zimmer won with almost 70 per cent of votes while Kendall finished with 6.3 per cent of the votes.

“Meeting people all the way up into the northern stretches of the province definitely helped me have an idea of the concerns people are actually seeing,” Kendall said of her previous political experience. “Seeing what is happening on the ground, actually going to see what’s happening on the Peace River and the hydroelectric project there. And also the oil and gas industry and the effects it has on wildlife and speaking with First Nations people all have given me an opportunity to see the big picture.”

Kendall also made it a point to say while it is a snap election, she encourages anyone eligible to vote to do so, regardless of which candidate is on their ballot.
