After one of the longest off-season’s ever for the Spruce Kings, Thursday was a day the entire team was waiting for as they kicked off their extended training camp.

“It’s been a long summer for everybody. We are just really excited to be back on the ice,” stated Spruce Kings Head Coach Alex Evin.

“It seems like forever,” added forward Kolton Cousins.

“I know the boys put in a lot of work this summer and to finally get back into things has been a great feeling.

The Kings skated for just over two hours Thursday night as they begin a lengthy journey to the regular season which won’t begin until December.

However, they do need to begin preparing for their first exhibition game which is a week away.

The Kings do have a good amount of returning players from last year, but also have a number of fresh faces whether that be rookies or players.

With a young returning core and a number of vets acquired, the club has set higher expectations for the 2020-2021 season.

The Kings will play their first home exhibition game on October 25 when they host Merritt.
