HOUSTON, B.C.—Two “suspicious” occurences in the month of September led Houston RCMP to seize drugs, guns and cash.

A release by Houston RCMP says that on Wednesday, September 16 they received a report of a “suspicious occurence,” in which a note had been left on a vehicle outside a residence on the 3100 block of Park Lane in Houston. The letter made reference to a debt being owed in connection with the drug trade.

Police say the owner of the vehicle had no idea who the note was intended for and informed them of the incident immediately.

On Friday, Sept.25, police were called to the same residence for another suspicious event believed to have been connected to the one on September 16.

Police say a man had attended the same home looking for a person who did not live there. The man left without incident after being told that, and the homeowner described the vehicle the man was driving to local police.

Shortly after, Houston RCMP located the vehicle and stopped it, which led to the arrest of three people who were in the car at the time.

Police located and seized, a semi-automatic shotgun with a loaded magazine, suspected methamphetamine and heroin and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking. Counterfeit $50 bills were also located.

RCMP have identified the person that the three suspects were looking for. Police believe they were attempting to collect a drug debt from him when they went to the wrong house.

One person remains in custody and will appear in court on Thursday, Oct.6 The other two suspects have been released pending a future court date. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Houston RCMP at (250) 845-2204 or Crime Stoppers at 1(800) 222-8477.
