Fatality in weekend crash

PRINCE GEORGE – A weekend crash on Highway 16 near Tabor Mountain has resulted in one fatality.

On Sunday, October 4 at approximately 11:20 a.m. RCMP received multiple reports of a tractor-trailer rollover east of Prince George. Reports indicated the tractor-trailer was on fire and blocking the highway.

Officers found another vehicle had collided with the tractor-trailer upon arrival. The driver, an adult male, was deceased. The two occupants of the tractor-trailer were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The highway was closed on Sunday for several hours as crews worked to clear the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

The BC Coroners Service is conducting its own investigation to determine the cause of death. The RCMP says no further information will be released about the identity of the deceased.
