B.C. reaches over 10,000 COVID-19 cases
VICTORIA—”Today we’ve reached a threshold, which is one that makes us pause,” said Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry this afternoon (Oct.8) regarding the more than 10,000 test-positive cases since the start of the pandemic.
In total 110 new cases were reported provincially this afternoon (Oct.8), including one epi-linked case, bringing the provincial total of test-positive cases to 10,066 since the beginning of the pandemic.
“We have 10,000 people that have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the province…and we know that’s an under representation of this virus…this number does give us reason for pause. It’s a reminder that many people have been impacted by this virus.”—Dr.Bonnie Henry, Provincial Health Officer
Of today’s new cases five are in the Northern Health region for a total of 330.
