The Western Hockey League’s Board of Governors announced that the 2020-2021 season will begin on January 8, 2021.

At this time the league continues to work with Government and Health Authorities in the 4 provinces and 2 states which the league is in to obtain the necessary approvals to play.

The WHL has agreed this year will be played exclusively within the boundaries of the league’s four divisions.

What that means is that the Cougars will see plenty of the Kelowna Rockets, Kamloops Blazers, Vancouver Giants, and Victoria Royals this year.

Details regarding the schedule of games in each of the four divisions will be announced at a later date.

However, at this time the league is unsure if they will be able to have any fans in the stands when play begins on January 8.
