PRINCE GEORGE – Prince George RCMP say one person has died in a single-car motor vehicle accident near the 6200 block of Upper Fraser road.

Around 8 p.m. Wednesday evening October 14 emergency crews responded to a report of a rolled-over vehicle on the Upper Fraser Road located northeast of the city.

According to RCMP, the single occupant of the vehicle, a 67-year-old man, died at the scene.

“Evidence and witness statements have led investigators to believe that the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road” says Cpl. Craig Douglass. “The driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.”

The BC Coroners Service is conducting a parallel fact-finding investigation to confirm the cause of death. No further information about the identity of the man will be released.
