PRINCE GEORGE — Motorists beware as inclement weather has prompted Environment Canada to issue highway alerts for the Pine Pass and for the Yellowhead Highway from Tete Jaune Cache to the Alberta border.

Environment Canada is forecasting 10 centimetres of snow for the Pine Pass with heavy wet snow this morning.

Ten centimetres of snow is also expected from Tete Jaune Cache to the Alberta border.

“A Pacific low pressure system moving across the central interior will continue to give wet snow to the region this morning. Further accumulations of 5 cm can be expected mainly over higher elevations and near the Rockies. The snow will end later this morning as the low moves into Alberta,” says Environment Canada.

“Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.”

As for Prince George, rain mixed with snow is expected until noon when a mix of sun and cloud is expected to take over.
